Clinton Senior Center

Information and Referral

Clinton Senior Center

Perhaps the largest and most visible role for the Office of Aging is as a provider of information and referral services. Our staff of specialists fields hundreds of calls and questions weekly on virtually every subject of concern to Berks County seniors. The Office of Aging also provides information and education on aging issues through a monthly interactive television program on BCTV.

Questions of a general nature can usually be answered immediately, but sometimes the expertise of a care manager or assessor is needed. A care manager will listen, ask questions, provide information, make referrals to arrange services and will follow-up the situation. This is very helpful if you have a problem but don't know what services are available or how to get them.

Assistance is readily available with benefit programs such as PACE and property tax or rent rebate applications, among others. We provide assistance in resolving questions and problems with Social Security, Medicare and SSI. Trained volunteers answer questions and provide guidance about health insurance through the Apprise Health Insurance Counseling program. We can provide information about long-term care facilities, housing options, health services, social and recreational activities, and much more. Best of all, access to information and referral services is just a phone call away.
